~In The
Stillness of The Night~
Softly,
gently, in the stillness of night
Your spirit
slipped away taking flight
You curled up
your body as if
Putting it
away
Not needing
to come back
You simply
flew away
My tears call
your name
My prayers
beckon an
Answer
And the night
gives
Me promise
That there is
a hereafter
You said good
night
You whispered
a good bye
And I was too
busy to listen
Distracted by
my day
To know you
had gone
Deciding not
to stay
Softly,
gently, in the stillness of night
Your spirit
slipped away taking flight
Not needing
to come back
You simply
Peacefully
Flew away

You just made me start crying.
ReplyDeleteI cried as I wrote using my tears as ink upon my paper thin heart. Thank you for reading and sharing
